REFUND AND RETURNS POLICY

Original Artworks by Dédé Hourani

Thank you for purchasing an original work by Dédé Hourani. Because each piece is a unique, hand-created work of fine art, this policy is designed specifically for original paintings sold through our website, and differs in important respects from standard retail return policies. Please read it carefully before completing your purchase.

1. Nature of the Sale

Every artwork offered is an original, one-of-a-kind painting by Dédé Hourani. No two works are identical, and once sold, a specific piece cannot be replaced or duplicated.

Each listing includes title, medium, dimensions, year of creation, and high-resolution photographs intended to represent the work as accurately as possible. Minor variations in color may occur between photographs and the physical piece due to screen calibration and lighting.

By completing a purchase, the buyer confirms they have reviewed the artwork’s images and description and accepts the work as described.

2. Return Window

Buyers may request a return within 14 calendar days of the delivery date shown by the shipping carrier’s tracking record. Requests submitted after this window will not be accepted, except where required by applicable law.

The return window begins on the date of confirmed delivery, not the date of purchase or shipment.

To initiate a return, the buyer must contact us in writing (see Section 7) within the window, stating the order number and reason for return.

A return authorization must be issued before the artwork is shipped back. Artworks returned without prior authorization may be refused.

3. Condition Requirements

To qualify for a refund, the returned artwork must meet all of the following conditions:

The work is unaltered, undamaged, and in the same condition as delivered.

Any certificate of authenticity, framing, or original packaging provided at delivery is included.

The work has not been reframed, restretched, cleaned, or otherwise modified by the buyer or a third party.

The work is returned using the original or equivalent professional art-shipping packaging to prevent transit damage.

Artworks that arrive back to us damaged due to improper packaging, or that show signs of alteration, may be refused or subject to a reduced refund reflecting the loss in value.

4. Non-Returnable Situations

The following are not eligible for return or refund:

Commissioned or custom-made works created to a buyer’s specific request.

Artworks purchased with a clearly marked “Final Sale” designation on the product page.

Claims submitted after the 14-day window has closed.

Buyer’s change of mind after the artwork has been installed, framed by a third party, or otherwise altered post-delivery.

5. Damaged or Misdescribed Artworks

If an artwork arrives damaged in transit or is materially different from its listing description, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery with:

Clear photographs of the artwork, the damage (if any), and all packaging materials.

The order number and date of delivery.

Claims of this nature are handled on a priority basis and may qualify for a full refund or replacement shipping arrangement, independent of the standard 14-day window, at our discretion and depending on carrier insurance findings.

6. Refund Process

Once a returned artwork is received and inspected, we will notify the buyer of the approval or rejection of the refund, typically within 5 business days.

Approved refunds are issued to the original method of payment. Banks and card issuers may take additional time to post the refund to the buyer’s account.

Original outbound shipping, insurance, and customs charges are non-refundable, except in cases of carrier-confirmed damage or our error.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer, unless the return is due to damage, defect, or misdescription on our part.

We strongly recommend insuring return shipments for the full purchase value, as we are not responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit.

7. How to Request a Return

To begin a return or report a delivery issue, contact us with your order number, the artwork title, and a description of the issue:

   Email: [INSERT CONTACT EMAIL]

Response time: within 2 business days

8. Authenticity Guarantee

Every original work is sold with a guarantee of authenticity as a genuine work by Dédé Hourani. Should an independent, mutually agreed-upon expert determine that a purchased work is not authentic, the buyer is entitled to a full refund, including original shipping costs, regardless of the standard return window.

9. Policy Updates

This policy may be revised from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The version in effect at the time of purchase will govern that transaction. We encourage buyers to review this page periodically.

For questions about a specific artwork or order, please reach out before purchasing — we are happy to provide additional photographs, condition reports, or measurements upon request.
